Hungarian Goose Down is renowned for its quality, it’s what you should choose if you want luxury that lasts. Genuine Hungarian Goose Down is typically excellent quality, and features good insulating properties, high filling power and has a long lifespan – which are trademarks of quality down. Because of the extremely cold climate in Hungary, the geese grow large down clusters to keep warm. This down is excellent quality and ideal for luxury bedding.
The more down there is in a duvet the softer, lighter and warmer it will be, making for a more luxurious sleep experience. Down also has a long lifespan, so a product with a high down content is an excellent investment in your sleep space.
Your duvets can be hand or machine washed or professionally dry cleaned.
Place the duvet into a large top loader machine with a small amount of mild liquid washing detergent and wash on a warm, gentle cycle so as not to stress the seams. Take care not to use any bleach or brightener as this strips the fabric of its protective downproof layer.
Do not use any fabric softener as this coats the down and prevents it from drying properly. Make sure that the duvet is rinsed thoroughly, this should take 2-3 rinses. The duvet can be dried in a tumble-dryer on a low heat, take it out of the dryer and shake a few times during the cycle. Use dryer balls (or clean tennis balls in a pillow case) to help beat the duvet as it dries, this prevents lumps forming. Make sure the duvet is completely dry before you put it back on your bed. Hang the duvet in the shade to air. Direct sunlight tends to make the down sweat which releases an odour. A small amount of shrinkage may occur as the cover is 100% cotton downproof. NEVER use plastic to store your duvet inner in.
